Self Hosting On Subdomain?

Been sometime since I posted and the app side of my business faltered somewhat. I think the subject title explains my question. Very simply can I put a self hosted install on a sub domain? Regards Ron

Hey Thomas and Ed, Brilliant thanks for the confirmation, I thought it would be just wanted a confirmation. Before I set about it. I had previously set it up on a main domain but that lapsed as I was involved in other mobile projects. It's time to get back into apps and I wanted it associated with my main business name anyway. So subdomain it is :) @Thomas great surname ;) I'm in the UK also but Oxford is a bit far for me. But if you ever have a meet up closer to Scotland I'll certainly try and attend. Cheers Guys Ron Boyd

Scottish surnames are always the best! You're probably the first Boyd I've come across on these forums!

Sub-domains just link to certain directories. 1) Set up your Self-Hosting account in the usual way. 2) Link your sub-domain to the Self-Hosted directory. I do this on mine: login.annandaleapps.com

Great stuff so your whole self hosted platform is on the subdomain "login" I was going to keep it simple and use "apps" as the subdomain. Ron

Your subdomain can be anything. I only use login, but it can be anything you want.

You can also have multiple subdomains, so you can have both, or anything you want.

If you need help setting up with Self-Hosting, please do just ask. I've been through many difficulties (mainly to do with permissions), although I absolutely love my Self-Hosted control panel now!

Cheers Thomas, I'll bare that in mind, I have set it up before successfully just not on a sub domain. The domain I had it on lapsed and it make more sense to associate it with my main business domain anyway rather than as a separate identity as I had before. Ron
