From the Amazon

Hi to all, I am photographer living in the Amazon rainforest, literally, connecting through satellite. My specialty is the Amazon region, selling nature photographs to editors, magazines, etc. I publish books and... apps. I am not coder and probably I will not be, but I like to read codes and to do small modifications. It seems that finally I find my virtual house at Buzztouch. I love the philosophy and the communitarian feeling of the site. Thanks to the team! Living the most part of the time, beyond photography and designing books, I climb trees, big trees of the primary forest, climb to photograph the canopy, for fun and to bring people nearest the sky. Thank you again to all for the friendly ecosystem, Leo

Wow. Welcome. I'd love to see some of your photos. How long have you been in the jungle? Are you able to connect whenever you want via the satellite? Sounds like BT is the perfect spot for you. Lots of methods in the BT source code can indeed be re-used and modded to work even better with minimal hacking.

Dude! That sounds amazingly cool...connecting to Buzztouch via satellite from the Amazon! Welcome to Buzztouch! When you're in need of some human interaction, this is the place to hang out. No better people on earth than the ones here! Whereabouts in the rain forest are you? Any GPS coordinates to share? Mark

Thanks very much to all, I really feel to be home, with old friends. For internet connection I just have a big antenna in my house, and is ok for our needs. It is not very speed but we can communicate. Every one or two weeks I go to the big city (Manaus, 144 km south), and do the heavy internet job. Now, I am back from a long day in the forest, we are domesticating a beautiful 150 feet iron wood tree, we are cleaning all dry branch and an excess of lianas that are brooking them. In the main time macaws fly above us, curious monkeys came to see those strangers, and more exotic bird... I am always surprised like a first time climber. We will climb on this tree with visitors... Ah! If you will visit The Amazon remember me, you are invited to climb a tree together! Believe me, this is an extraordinary experience. I am French and I live in the Amazon since 24 years. Three Amazonian children, that love the forest and climb too. Absolutely gorgeous imagery on your blog and in your archives. Some of those shots are simply stunning! On the tree climbing, I'll be the one at the bottom, holding the ropes for others. :) Cheers! -- Smug
