Error un-zipping archive

I am trying to set up my Self Hosted Server. All was going well until I tried to download using the "Download Plugins from your buzztouch.com Control Panel" after locating the Plug in that I wish and selecting Install I get this error> Error un-zipping archive (1) Assistance would be greatly appreciated

You're sort of stuck for the moment, I think. The plugins within Buzztouch recently underwent updates, to bring them up to snuff with the new BT v3 code that is coming down the road. It's already in place in the BT hosted control panel, but not to Self Hosted yet. As such, there is no more 'index.php' and other support files normally found in the standard plugin package. And it causes an error. I don't think you'll have much luck trying it manually either. For the time being, I'd say play with your BT control panel, and wait for the new self hosted package to be released. It'll be a few days to a few weeks longer. They've just finished updating the BT hosted control panel, and they're making sure everything works as designed before they create a new self hosted package. But it's coming. Welcome to Buzztouch! Hope you have a good time. Sorry for that particular inconvenience; most of the time you'd be in fine shape. Just bad timing. Cheers! -- Smug

Keith, Have you had any luck with this yet? I'm not really sure what you mean when you say "unzip to your plugin folder". The only way I know of installing plugins on the self hosted cp is from one of the 2 options: 'Download Plugins from your buzztouch.com Control Panel' 'Upload Plugin Package' Neither is working still. Thanks

"Unzip to your plugin folder" means unzipping the file locally, and using an FTP program to manually upload the files to your BT plugins directory. Self Hosted v3.0 was released last night (yesterday?) so if you update your server, you should be fine. In theory. Cheers! -- Smug

I've had spurious issues with this sort of thing; nothing I can completely reproduce. But my 'inclination' is that, plugins that have been updated to BTv3, have no problems. Plugins that still have php files (BTv2) I have problems with, and the only way I've gotten them to load is to unzip locally and FTP files up to my self hosted server. I suspect when all plugins are updated to BTv3 those odd problems will go away, but until then, you'll probably have to manually upload them. Just my opinion. Cheers! -- Smug
