Smug Message Location (SmugMsgLoc) in the Marketplace

I'm happy to say that I have resubmitted the 'Smug Message Locator' plugin to the new BT Plugin Market Place. Bad news for BT Members; I've doubled the price. Let's see here… 2 x $0.00 is… oh never mind. It's still free for Members, and Non-Members still pay a low $4.99 It's both BT Android v3 and BT iOS v3 ready. https://www.buzztouch.com/plugins/plugin.php?pid=E68E235A292B9B65CE07FC6 Let me know if you have issues. Read the Read me. Cheers! -- Smug Edit: Self Hosters… Feeling Lucky? If you add these two files to your SmugMsgLoc plugin directory, you 'should' be able to work with it using BT v2.1.7+ https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/115208762/smlAddSHAddons.zip

Congratulations, Smug! Now I'm more eager than ever to have the self-hosted 3.0 core! Hope it will be available soon...

Neat! But how the heck did you manage to get your plugins on the market? I've been trying to upload my new plugin, with no luck.

Thomas: This is actually a pretty old plugin. I removed it from the market to make a few alterations, and by the time it was ready to return, the market closed for renovation. If you've 'already' created a plugin, you can change the status and put it on the market. But you can't create new plugins (yet). Cheers! -- Smug

Makes sense! I've created the plugin code, but the title on a Buzztouch.com isn't correct. I'll wait until David does his magic.

If you're okay with the name of the class file, you should be fine. You can easily change the name that's displayed to everyone on the control panel. Only class file names and plugin ID's cannot be changed

@Chris I was going to re-use one of my old plugins to get one in but the class/unique id was so different from the actual new plugin I decided to let that go. I suggested to David to allow us to change those values before the initial first upload of the plugin (much like itunesconnect lets us change a few values now before the initial binary upload) @Smug, I know how hard you worked on this one... awesome & congratulations! I reviewed it in the market, and suggest others review it too if you find it useful! Cheers, David https://buzztouchmods.com/market

Thanks Smug, I sooooo needed that plugin! :) Just great. I am guessing that this plugin can be somehow used to send the coordinates to a database to display on a map along with other locations? It would then work pretty much like Mark's "Posting a Device's Current Location to a Database" doc in the How to's but Native. Farcat

@Farcat actually, this plugin doesn't connect to a server. At least, not natively. It's used to SMS or email your current lat/lng to a recipient. Sorry to dissappoint! I'll look into db plugins in a bit… Cheers! -- Smug

Congratulations Smug! This plugin is how I had first learned about the great Smug. You had wanted to make this capability for many months and now it is updated for the new BT v3! :-) @Farcat -- should not be too hard to merge Mark's teachings into Smug's plugin. Give it a go and let us know how you get along. -- Niraj

@Niraj Shah, you are right, I haven't looked into the details yet but it should be possible in theory. Saying that, I couldn't make Mark's solution work a few month ago. If I still can't make it work I'll try an email parser (like http://www.email2db.com/) to grab the data for me. Will keep you posted on that. Having a database plugin would be fantastic, hopefully it would give more control on the app content to the user. Generally I think that's what is missing on the BT apps - ways for the user to customise the app and and input content. I going off topic. @SmugWimp - not disappointed at all, SmugMsgLoc is a great plugin! Farcat
