I'm not sure I understand? The plugin doesn't provide qrcodes, just a way to read them. There's several free tools to create the codes. I prefer qrstuff.com

The error you're getting usually indicates that the menu choice you've selected can't be found. "usually" (but not always) this indicates an added plugin in the control panel that wasn't included in the download package. If this is the case, you'll need to download a new package that includes the newer plugin. Cheers! -- Smug

Thanks chris1 and SmugWimp I know the plugin doesn't provide qr-codes, it is a reader, perfect for my need, BTW thank you for qrstuff.com website, The following are required for Android Project right? i don't see them in Eclipse. i re-download it 3 times but plugin wasn't included in the download package. Thanks! cr_qr_reader.java IntentIntegrator.java IntentIntegratorSupportV4.java IntentResult.java cr_screen_qr_reader.xml cr_qr_down.png cr_qr_up.png

Are you trying this on self-hosted or buzztouch.com? Also, are you trying with a 2.0 or 3.0 Android project?

That's strange - I just downloaded a fresh project with Android 3.0 on buzztouch.com that included the plugin, and it shows the necessary .java files in the src/com/<appname>/ folder. Look in the folder structure itself on your download (i.e., in Finder(OSX) / Explorer(Win), rather than in Eclipse). Do you see the files in there?

It sounds like you're trying to install a BT v3.0 plugin into a BT v2.1.9 self hosted server. That's not going to work. In the new plugin scheme, all php files go away. If chris created an index.php for the plugin, you might be able to get it from him, but no php allowed in the plugin/market. Cheers! -- Smug

I wish I knew. I'm watching the ability to create new plugins to happen. When that's done, I know self hosting won't be far behind. We knew that the index.php files were not going to be used in BT v3. We didn't know that php files were no longer allowed. That was a bit abrupt for some of the early adopters. Chris had that plugin built for a while; I'm sure he has the index.php and other support files available. Just give him a shout. Cheers! -- Smug

I actually created that plugin last week, so I don't have an index.php file prepared. I'll see if I can whip one up though.

Give these a try - download the 'self-hosted' version of the plugin, unzip it, drag these two files into the folder, and rezip it up. index.php: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ij9375dppwtlget/index.php save_JSON.php: https://www.dropbox.com/s/l2uezxgt2maceqe/save_JSON.php

@Chris1... Okay... the QR Reader works at this Time with an Android 3.0 App from here. Maybe in the Future on CP 3.0 Update ;-)) But.... There are 3 little Errors in the: - IntentIntegrator.java - IntentIntegratorSupportV4.java and - IntentResult.java On the Lines around 1-5 the File loads "com.buzztouch".... Just change it to the name of your AndroidAPP and it works!

Sorry, I should have included this in the readme file. Yes, the user will need to install the free qr reader app that it directed you to in order for the plugin to work correctly. One installed, it works right from the app.

iOS is native - Android "feels" native once the third-party app is installed. Unfortunately, that's the best option available for open-source qr-code readers that can be made into a plugin like this.

That actually uses the same open-source project that mine does.
