Buzztouch 3.0.0 Selfhosted Software Available for download!

Hi everyone, I'm proud to announce the release of Buzztouch 3.0.0 for the Selfhosted Servers. David and his team did a super great job to improve the software and bring it to a higher level. Download: You can download the latest release of this software by going to your account and click on "Self Hosted Software". In there you'll see the download link. Manual: In the download (zip file) is a pdf-document (bt-self-hosted-3.x.x.pdf) which explains everything about the installation and update process. Be sure you read this document. 'Old' Plugins: In the new plugin versions there is no index.php anymore. You can still use your 'old' plugins (containing the index.php) in the BT3.0.0 The only thing that changed is the fact that you cannot install older plugins with the build-in uploading system but you should install them through ftp (just drag all the files of the plugin into your plugin folder. This is a very cool feature!!!! Troubleshoot: Although the software is fully tested it may occur that you will find something that is not working correctly. This is normal with a lot of updated files. The forum is a great place to write down your findings and a lot of users will try to help. We'll work hard to work them out.... Important: Before you update your existing software, always make sure you create a backup of the files and database, so in case something goes wrong you can always go back to the most recent situation. This is very important and an often forgotten step (btw you should always make regular backups!) Great: Hope you all enjoy this piece of very advanced software! Best Regards, Danny Kessels

Thanks Danny! BTW, if no problems arise in the upgrade process, would an existing App Store app be affected or look any different?

So, is this it then, in terms of updating the BT platform, or is there still more updates to come? Also do we know what is going to happen in regards to the Push service, will there be an alternative due to many not being able to persuade their hosting company to open up the necessary ports? Anyway, great news, it means I can now move forward with my plans and project.

@Dragon0007, for Push I use pushwoosh.com. Works great and is easy to integrate. Farcat

Dragon - not much can be done about the ports issue. Apple requires push to go over certain ports, and some hosts don't want to allow that. The options are to switch hosts or use a third party service

Upgraded to 3.0 no issues, but I did notice that the first page at BT-server/install said it was the install for 2.1.9 yet, tried to refresh a few times, and no change. Once setup I confirmed it is 3.0, but it may little confusing for some. Thanks David and BT team!! Jim - this is the code in the index.php- <head> <title>Buzztouch 2.1.9</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no" /> <meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="false" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css" /> </head>

I did the upgrade last night, and had no issues. I did hit one thing, that Smug mentions above. When you go through the final steps of the install process, and it gives you the section of the config.php file to copy and paste, it includes the following line: define("APP_CURRENT_VERSION", "2.1.9"); Either don't copy that line before you paste (since it's grabbing it from the old config file), or change it to 3.0.0, and you'll have the correct version reflected in your admin panel. Other than that...worked like a charm! Mark

Hey Guys, I'm getting a "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '@' in /home/cdoct0/public_html/BT-server/config.php on line 30" This is the line where we type in our buzztouch username... Any ideas? Thank.
