Some Black Weekend goodies - Free plugin

Hi all, It's not Black Friday anymore, so I'm renaming it Black Weekend. There's a long awaited plugin I have always wanted to release for a long time. As it turns out, hours before I was due to release it, Jake Chasan released an identical plugin. This has turned out to be a bit upsetting, but I wish every bit of luck for Jake's new plugin. I have downloaded it myself, and I can reassure you that it is a really good plugin. But I want to share with you the plugin I have made anyway. I have done some downgrading of this plugin so it won't take away any sales from Jake. 1) I have taken away the html files, and reverted back to php. I have done this so this won't steal any sales from Jake. 2) I have dumbed it down to the basics, again, so I don't take away sales. 3) I have no intention of uploading this to the Buzztouch Plugin Market anymore. This will remain a plugin only for the Self-Hosted panel. For months, I have been creating this 'iTunes Page Viewer' plugin. You enter an iTunes ID and the screen will show the app screen without exiting the app. Here is the link to this one precious plugin: http://plugins.annandaleapps.com I hope you enjoy this plugin!

How do you upload this plugin to the self-hosted control panel? I tried to upload the zip but got an error

I think it's time we cranked up Outbreaks Plugin List again… https://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/Plugin%20Wish%20List.pdf This sort of thing is bound to happen, but it's a shame when it does. Cheers! -- Smug

It just so happened that I was literally going to release it a few hours after Jake. But hey, one of us had to lose. If I had got mine out, Jake would have been gutted too, so this is maybe the closest thing to a win-win. But we learn a lesson, I think. I think there should be a plugins register, so people making new plugins know not to copy ones already being built.

Bump this up to a new thread Smug. Go on. I'd do it but I'm lazy and in my smoking jacket watching Sherlock Holmes whilst stroking my fake beard. Good to have this in the forefront. Friday yet?

Hey Thomas, I think that plugin had been ou for a while, not just before you submitted it. I think it was at buzztouchmods.... I've had it for a long time.

@MadRod: Are talking about AppListMaker? (https://buzztouchmods.com/downloads.php?cat_id=5&download_id=33) I believe the AppListMaker generates an HTML file which lists apps. The iTunes and App Store Viewer is a native solution, which replaces the "Launch a Native App" screen, so the user never leaves the app. Jake

@MadRod: You are right, I sent it to you for testing in May. The version you have is my StoreViewer, it has been ready since May. Do you have any apps which use it? Jake

I have it on one. Its a free lite version app https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/castelos-de-portugal-lite/id542541299?ls=1&mt=8 Love the plugin. Couldn't get the IAP to work correctly, this did the job in an even better view. The one that on the market is a better version of this one? Not sure if I have it already, but I think not.

@MadRod: Thanks for the kind words. I am glad you like it. The version on the plugin market is BT3.0 compatible, with other minor improvements due to iOS 7. Do you have the one on the market? Jake
