Zero problems updating v2.19 to v3.0 Self Hosted

After waiting a week, reviewing all the problems with updating to the new v3.0 core, preparing myself in anticipation of the errors and bugs others have experienced. I figured I may as well go for it. OK, setup, I have my own dedicated server with hostgator. 1. Backed Up everything, and database 2. moved all existing files (except for the original 'files' folder) to a folder named v219. 3. Upload Bt-server files into a clean root directory. 4. ran the install, followed instructions, reconfigured new config.php file with the data from my v2.19 config file, saved then uploaded. 5. deleted install folder, tests went flawless and login successful 6. checked all plugins for updates, flawless, no stalls or errors. 7. checked for new plugins from my bt account, detected new ones, downloaded and installed automatically. I think I'm good to go, all my v2.19 apps work perfectly. I'm about to test my apps with the v3.0 now, and see if it bombs out. I didn't have to contact hostgator to whitelist anything yet. The only confusing part of this process is that when I ran the install it said v2.19 on the top, instead of v3.0..

Cool. Even my up-gradation went smooth except some new plugins like Mosiac, McImagegallery and Menu with image plugins are not working as expected on my self host. They work nicely on my BT cp though. I am planning to do up-gradation all again this weekend.

ok running the new v3 ios compile in xcode, Bt_Images is empty, I assume I just copy my 2.19 BT_Images folder and add it to the project running the ios7 simulator gives me this screen Missing Plugin: The view controller for this plugin was not compiled in this xcode project. Any suggestions before I try to troubleshoot this myself. Thanks

I've heard rumblings about missing plugins, but I haven't experienced it myself. Yet, lol! With respect to 3.0 reporting as 2.1.9, it's only a single line in your config.php file that needs to be updated. Look for the line "APP_CURRENT_VERSION" and change it to 3.0.0: define("APP_CURRENT_VERSION", "3.0.0"); And you should be good. Cheers! -- Smug

Thanks smug, having plugin issues, is my best bet to start from scratch with a clean v3 app build, duplicate my original screens layout. splash screen and notepad errors

The plugin updating issue is with the hostgator firewalls. Just ask them to whitelist one of your scripts. No need for a reinstall. Info here https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=BE865599ED6046C3C7685BC&currentPage=1
