Share via email & SMS not downloading?

I'm not getting Share via email or share via SMS plugins included when I download in BTv3 (iOS). They download fine in BTv2. Are those plugins no longer being used in BTv3, or is there something else I need to be doing? thanks.

My V3 app has the plugins you just mentioned so I can say that they are out there. I just upgraded. I noticed that my V3 plugins didn't update on refresh at all (v2 was OK), but after a manual download from my BT hosted control panel, things were better. Alan

I have another thread going about this, and I can not get send or share email to work at all.

@BranX26, Yours looks like you may be having a different problem. My issue is that I can't get the Share via email or Share via SMS plugin folders to download within my BTv3 iOS project. It looks like you are having a problem getting a different plugin, the Send Email plugin to work, but you can get it to download.

@shenry, I had the same problem as you - have you tried my suggestion?

What files should I see in my plugins, because none say anything about email.

@AlanMac, I did try downloading from BT hosted to self-hosted and got: Error Un-Zipping Archive? (1) This error is sometimes caused by the type of software that was used to create the .zip archive, it could not be opened. @BranX26, I may have misread your thread, I thought you were having a problem getting it to work in xcode, but if you aren't seeing a Send email plugin folder within your BT plugins folder, then the Send Email plugin doesn't seem to be downloading either.

I may be wrong, but historically, you didn't actually need plugins downloaded for those two plugins, since the email and SMS functions were included natively in the core. The bigger question is: do your screens work when you compile?

Hey Stobe, I've compiled again. And Share by sms screen does show up ( in simulator), but Share by Email does not. (I didn't realize you didn't need plugin downloads because it's included in the "Choose Plugins to include") Both Share by SMS and Share by Email are checked in the section "Choose Plugins to Include" when preparing to download.

Another thing to remember, if you don't have an email account setup in the test device, no email plugins will work. I think this is true with the simulator as well. In the older versions, you would get an alert screen saying something like "this device is not capable of email" or something similar. Maybe the new version (3.0 or ios7) is lacking that same alert screen?

Hi @shenry, I think the fact that you had a problem installing a plugin may be a clue. If the zip file doesn't unzip with the server doing it, I think you can unzip yourself locally and ftp the files over. Might also be worth looking at this thread in case you see similarities. http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=8E31BBFD6E5565E6F0DAB07&sortColumn=FT.id&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=2 cheers, Alan
