Easiest way to port an app from Android to IOS

Hello Buzztouch crew - I might have this in the wrong forum section, but here goes... I've produced a *very* simple app for the android platform using a couple of the cool plug-ins here at Buzztouch and would love to have an IOS version as well. To be completely honest I simply do not have the money to get a simple mac set-up to re-make the app for the IOS market (recession ha ha ha!) - it would be nice to hear peoples thoughts/opinions on getting an app onto both platforms without doubling up on the dev kit. Might not be a way of avoiding this but if I could have the brutal truth at least I'd know the score... Thanks as always DT.

Unfortunately, you'll need to use XCode if you want to compile an app for iOS and submit it to the app store. And XCode only comes on OSX. But, you might not have to get a Mac (although I highly recommend it). Try running OSX through a parallels program and see if that will work. I haven't tried it before, but it would be a lot cheaper.

I don't have a mac but I've submitted a few iOS apps. You can do this by running Mac OSX on your PC by using VMware. There are also "hackintosh" solutions in which you can dual boot mac OSX and windows, but that's a lot more complicated than the VMware route. A few minutes in a google search will point you in the right direction to get started. The mac OS and VMware can be found for free online

Thanks Chris1 and Piggilypoo - I know that there are issues with submitting if you've not developed on a genuine Mac but this looks like a great way to let me start the learning process of developing IOS apps (and learning is the cool part) - I'm all over Google like a cheap suit and researching VMware...

Check out a mac mini rental or a continuous integration service where you can build in an iOS cloud: http://www.macstadium.com/ Ryan
