VMware Lion 10.8.3

Hi Just manage to setup a fresh installation of OS X lion mountain 10.8.3 in a virtual machine in my pc and i am glad for that :) as the only reason that wanted to have a Mac is to compile my apps from here (i am windows/Linux guy i think :P ) so as i am still downloading (will take some hours ) the 4.6.3 X code (the last compatible version for my Mac os ) has any one any suggestions or things that should take care off ? with the 4.6 X code in what versions of iPhone the apps will run ? i never had an iphone (yes and here i am Android person i think :P )

You are fine for now. Apple will be getting 80% of their users onto iOS 7 by end of 2014. That means you will be left behind with only iOS 6 style of apps. Just giving you caution. Get your feet wet, then go get serious if your passion continues. -- Niraj

The older apps made for iOS 6 will run just fine in the newer iOS 7 devices. However, Users will notice the differences and start to say (in 2014) "ugh, why is this app never updated, it is so old" Also, running BuzzTouch v2 apps in iOS 7 is not a great experience. You will have to make patches to the Plugins and to the BT Core. Finally, as Plugins get updated, they may not be backwards compatible with iOS 6 and BT v2. Such is the price of evolution. Thankfully, Apple does a good job on keeping most of their Users on the latest version of iOS. That forces the Developers to stay in sync with Apple and it actually makes our lives also easier by not having to be backwards compatible. Again, test the waters, then make a decision if you want to drink the Apple waters. When testing, don't compare with how Android does things. Instead, treat it as a new animal, you have to learn its behaviors, techniques and tricks. I think you will like those Apple-flavored waters. :-) -- Niraj
