video chat & paypal integration?

Hi all, without getting too specific, I'd like my new app to allow the following type of interaction, and I can't figure out how to go about it using the available plugins: - Person 1 to show other users of my app (Facebook? Twitter? Scringo?) that they are available for video chat - Person 2 to respond to that request by donating $ via paypal (or is there a new/better payment method?); this donation fulfills Person 1's availability & blocks other responders. ...re-reading this description, it sounds a lot like something dirty/illegal/unethical, but I guarantee that it is not (o; thanks a lot! Well, I can say that, any 'monetary' transaction done 'within' an app will have to do it 'the apple way', either by cost of app, or in app purchase. (In Android anything goes) I recently finished an app for a client, and included a handy 'donate via paypal' button on a screen, and it was rejected for that reason. The solution was to place a link that would take you 'out' of the app, and into Safari to the client website page that accomplishes the same thing. Cheers! -- Smug

INTERESTING! All in-app purchases go through the associated Apple ID? Does Apple get a cut of those transactions? Any thoughts on integrating the video chat feature?

Oh yes. Apple gets roughly 30% of your revenue. Video Chat? I didn't have a good answer at the time. Not sure if the one I have now is any better, lol! If you're just planning on using iOS, then perhaps integrating the 'GameKit' might be a way of letting others know about the online status… but on Android, not sure. If you're going to do both, you may want to have some kind of 'alert' script that will go to a backend server that can note 'app start' or 'app stop' status to assist with that… Or snoop around the Scringo SDK; perhaps that may have some built in functionality that you're looking for… Cheers! -- Smug
