Any updated instructions on how to get started with Buzztouch apps with android studio?

I am needing to try and update an old Android App to get it back working on newer android devices. It's been a long time since I last worked with Android and I am in need of some instructions. I've looked in the forum and most of the info seems to be out of date. Does anyone have something more current?

I was looking for the same a while back and got directed to youtube, so nothing offical for buzztouch, and i couldnt get past all the setup issues and errors i was seeing in android studio so gave up. Theres no one left on buzztouch really, only the people that have apps running and dont need to touch them. the forum is pretty much dead so no support available Sticking with iOS which i understand alot more

Hey Bonzo, I know what you mean. This forum is a ghost town and it's hard to tell what information is still up to date. As this is a service that we pay for, I do think there should be an "How To" area on this site that is maintained and alway up to date for the most recent versions of the software. I also stick to iOS when I can, but I am required to update an Android app at the moment. Anyone out there with more current Buzztouch for Android how to info? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Cakebit supplied me this. I was able to get up and running by following these intructions (with the odd tweak) https://buzztouch.notion.site/Installing-Android-Studio-on-macOS-23c82965ed454adda5bbc6abc0f8a945 The upsideDownCake didn't work for me, so had to create virtual device with Tiramisu which seemed to work

Thanks Bonzo, I'll give it a go. When I tried yesterday I was just getting outdated gradle errors and it was failing to build regardless what flavour of android/gradle I used. I think in the end I just told myself this is why I don't like android.

Thanks Bonzo. Same errors unfortunately: > Task :app:kaptDebugKotlin FAILED Execution failed for task ':app:kaptDebugKotlin'. > A failure occurred while executing org.jetbrains.kotlin.gradle.internal.KaptWithoutKotlincTask$KaptExecutionWorkAction > java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException (no error message) Nothing I found on google helped so maybe I'll try again if a new BT version comes out that isn't a beta. iOS it is for now.

I'll attempt it. Yesterday, I encountered outdated Gradle errors, causing build failures regardless of the Android/Gradle version I used. It led me to think, "This is why I'm not fond of Android. https://topfollowapks.com/
