Yelp Integration

I am looking to integrate yelp into my BT android app and can't seem to find any documentation on how to do this. I don't mind using the url page plugin, however, it doesn't seem to pull the users location when using this plugin so Yelp doesn't update with the correct information displayed based on the current location of the device. I've tried enabling GPS on start-up of the app and that didn't do anything either. Does anyone have any insight to share on how to integrate Yelp with BT. I simply want to give my users a way to look up nearby restaurants, bars, etc within my app based off the current location of the device or based off the location the user inputs... Thanks for your help...

Ya, i know which doesn't help... It only will take predetermined lats and longs. If anyone has any recommendations or any documentation on how to integrate yelp please chime in on this topic.

I haven't played with Yelp too much... still trying to see if I want to deal with it. But I do remember a few posts on the topic within the last year or so... http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=162EC88880632D83F222F9D&currentPage=1 http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=BFCEDA4158124C3&currentPage=308 http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=3E4842C234DDB8ECA4CA292&currentPage=241 http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=416EC084C3EA9693F20CA08&currentPage=1 Hope this can help in some way... Cheers! -- Smug PS, when you refresh without leaving the page, you double post.

Hey SmugWimp, ya my buddy just told me that... I'll make sure not to refresh the page next time lol. I have also read through all those threads and they didn't help much. The API would be nice to use, but I would then have to use a database to parse the information out and there doesn't appear to be any documentation on linking a database with BT for Android unless I over looked something. Is their any recommendations out there by anyone. I am simply looking to give my users the ability to search for nearby locations ie. bars, restaurants, attractions, night life etc... And nor am I trying to manually enter in locations, I would much rather pull from google places or yelp b/c those services are dedicated to updating locations and their info on a constant bases... Plus many companies already use these services because of their mainstream use... Thanks everyone

Well, I'm working on tutorials to use a database that would cover both Android and iOS. Upfront, it's to make using 'my' plugins a little easier. However, the tools and knowledge gained isn't restricted to 'my' plugins; all plugins work close to the same with respect to obtaining data, with some slight modifications. Take a look at my video tutorial on wb_addons, and see if it makes any sense to you. From there, it's not 'too' much to modify scripts and code to change the output to meet your needs. https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?fid=DD7AB5D535F2631073ED32C&tid=DD7AB5D535F2631073ED32C Cheers! -- Smug
