embed a website using BuzzTouch

Just started using buzztouch, so be gentle, at least for now. My boss wants a simple app that when launched, will bring in his website. I guess something like using an iframe in a web page. I am planning on purchasing the self hosted package once I find out if this can be done. Just a quick example would be appreciated. Thank you.

Use the custom URL plugin as a screen and add your website URL. It would also help if your website is mobile compatible although not necessary.

Welcome to buzztouch! What you want to do can totally be done. We have a screen called Custom URL, which will open up a URL in a webView. You can also link to individual HTML pages via URL and the HTML Screen. I'd caution against doing this, especially if you are planning on submitting to Apple. They'll immediately reject an app that is "just a website" within the app. They figure a website belongs as a website, and that an app should exploit the native functionality in iOS. Google is not quite as strict...you can get just about anything past them! Good luck, and let us know what we can do to help! You can whip this up using the free account super quickly...just play around and post questions you might have. Mark

Wow, this is a great community. Thank you so much. This app will not be submitted to the play store or itunes, it is strictly to give to a few select clients. Your answers were swift, courteous, and complete. Thanks again.

Great advice everyone! @EMNM, if your not submitting and only for in house, then you should be good to go. LA

Just to let everyone know, this is my very first attempt at making an android app in buzztouch. I made the app following your instructions above, downloaded, opened in eclipse, made the changes per the manual, exported the .apk file, uploaded it to our server, pointed my phone to it and installed, perfect and superb quality. What a system...
