my app works perfect in Xcode, android version is not updating the app in the simulator

Hi, I tested my app on xcode and it runs perfectly, but eclipse (in the simulator) is not showing the changes i made on buzztouch (is showing the first version i did). Also in Eclipse a screen with a map is not working right, it shows the pin and the information i submitted but the map never actually appears, just some lines, its like your internet connection got lost. Regards Buzztouchers¡¡¡¡

while in android, quit your app. open your android settings, and application manager. find your app, and 'delete cache' or 'clear cache' depending on your phones vernacular. Then your app should refresh on startup. Cheers! -- Smug

Here's an instructional video I did on getting maps to work in the Emulator. It's a bit more up to date than the doc I wrote, which is mentioned above (but still a very useful reference, I think!). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGC9IuEMwBE And Smug's idea on the refresh issue should work as well! If you can find the Menu button for your emulator, you can also hit that, and select "Refresh All Data" when you hit it from the home screen. Mark

Oh duh. Yeah, I misunderstood. As stated above, you'll need a google API for that map thing. Cheers! -- Smug

Smug, I believe both problems were present in the post: not updating and maps. Thanks for the idea with cleaning the cache, I need to try it. Until now I always had to download the code package to see the changes. Cheers! Frogman

Hi, I cant solve the map issue because I cant find the .android file, so the debug.keystore is unreachable, i don't know what to do, i have tried a lot of things and the last one tried was i wrote ¨~/.android/debug.keystore¨ on the terminal and look what happens: Mac-mini-de-Eduardo:~ NUCLEO$ ~/.android/debug.keystore -bash: /Users/NUCLEO/.android/debug.keystore: Permission denied Mac-mini-de-Eduardo:~ NUCLEO$ Any ideas?? thanks a lot. Mark: i did what you say in your video but the path to the .android folder never shows anywhere

Hello, The .android is actually a folder, and should be in /Users/yourname/.android. If you open up Terminal, it should open up directy to /Users/yourname, and you can cd to .android. Once there, 'ls -al' should show you the file. There's no requirement for it to be in that folder, so if you find it, just copy it elsewhere. Mark

Cool, so, it's good that you're at least able to find it via the shell. Now, if you type in 'pwd,' it should give you the current path. Copy that path into a text editor, add debug.keystore to the end of it, so it looks something like this: /Users/markfleming/.android/debug.keystore Then copy the whole thing and paste it into Eclipse where it's being asked for. Then hit OK (or Save) and you should be good. Mark

Mac-mini-de-Eduardo:~ NUCLEO$ keytool -list -alias androiddebugkey \ > -keystore -/Users/NUCLEO/.android/debug.keystore.keystore \ > -storepass android -keypass android error de keytool: java.lang.Exception: El archivo de almac?n de claves no existe: -/Users/NUCLEO/.android/debug.keystore.keystore Mac-mini-de-Eduardo:~ NUCLEO$ ¨El archivo de almac?n de claves no existe: -¨ i dont know if you speak spanish but if you don't that means: The storage key file doesn't exist. Eclipse can sure be a pain in the butt sometimes! Here's a video that I did that shows how to install something called the Eclipse Keytool Plugin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaXE2FUENFI Once you have that installed, you can create your own debug or release key. There's nothing special about a debug keystore...especially the one that comes with Eclipse. In fact, if you want, you can create a release keystore and use that for all your debug...probably not a best practice, but it would work. Let me know how that works, and if you have any questions! Mark

Mark,Frogman, SmugWimp, Arubaman: Finally i got my map running on my simulator and on the device, thanks a lot¡¡¡ I learned a bunch of things. The last problem was caused because i created a release key instead of a debug key. *My rookieness showing up the problem with the map is gone but my app in android doesn't match the design i did in buzz touch, design that the xcode version does show. Even the color of the buttons are different, it doesn't show up a picture, but i think the fact the api map key got the problem solved demonstrates that the app is updated, i dont have a clue...... Any suggestions?, thanks again
