Hello, I am building an app for my high school. It will help keep all the students up to date with announcements as well as a way to contact any member of the staff and other functions as well. I have went ahead and built the base. I followed all the instructions for Android notifications including getting a project number, api key...I did all that. But still when I launch my app on multiple simulators and devices, when the app launches and asks for permission of push notifications, when YES is selected the app crashes. I have spent hours trying to fix this. PLEASE HELP ME!

Welcome @zaighamhali, Not positive about this but you may have to be a member for push. LA

That's right....only members can access Push Notifications. If you aren't sure you want to join, maybe there are other ways to get your messages out in the app, although users would have to open the app to see the message. The beauty of BT is how you can change app content on the fly.

Thanks for your replies. Now how do I go about becoming a member? If there is anything I have to pay for, I will look into it in about a month. So then for now how will I then disable the prompt for push notifs? I have tried in the core settings by selecting No don't prompt but nothing seems to work. I may try to rebuild this app.

It may be easier to re download the project from BT and start over than try to fix the existing project. All do your content will still be there.

Become a member is great decision. I'd recommend it. Either way, always someone to help you out.. Cheers.

Thanks for the replies. Yah no wonder it was crashing since I am not a member. Will try to get this app finished and maybe put it on the store before I get the membership. Anyone know how parse's backend services and push notifications compare with buzz touch? Anyway gonna go and try to fix some issues with this app, I uploaded icons for the tabs of the app and for some reason on all devices the icons don't show up and the tab is just blank with just the title of the tab. (Label).
